* Katie Shuey, Director of State Government Relations at HealthSouth and sits on the Medicaid and Finance Committees at the Federation of American Hospitals.
* Dr. Tina Simpson, Associate Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham; Medical Staff at UAB Hospital and Children’s of Alabama in Adolescent Health Medicine

Daniel, Jr. Adolescent Health Center; Medical Director of the Adolescent Eating Disorders Clinic; Medical Staff at UAB Hospital, Children’s of Alabama and Cooper Green Mercy Hospital; Project Director of the Alabama Ryan White Part D Program and Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham
Discussion will include an overview of the Affordable Care Act and how it changed health insurance. We’ll also discuss the healthcare landscape in the wake of the Senate bill’s collapse, and how federal law impacts our state and local hospitals and communities. Finally, the business side of healthcare, the benefits of Medicaid and more are all on the agenda.
We will also have a brainstorming session on future action items for our group! We hope you can join us.
